about sengis
what’s a sengi?
a sengi is a small insectivore from Africa. they used to be called “elephant shrews”, but they are neither elephant nor shrew, so many people now call them sengis. they vary in apperance, but they all have long, twitchy noses and little stick legs. Rufous sengis, which were featured in the documentaries “Life” and “The Life of Mammals”, are one of my favorite animals.

I’m lookin’ cute and feelin’ cute
I’m a queer disabled woman. I do my best to be good to others and myself.
I’m on the path to become a professional dog trainer.
official statement on dog-related topics: I have almost a decade of experience working with dogs in a shelter setting, and I usually focus on adolescent pit bulls and pit mixes with no prior training or very shy/fearful dogs in that setting. I use and condone only positive, dog-friendly methods. I love pit bulls and I am opposed to breeding them except for working purposes while they’re in their current overpopulation crisis. I believe all people deserve access to the resources and knowledge to care for and enjoy living with their pet dogs. deal with it.
family
consists of omg-penises, my partner, and one (for now) rescued dog.
omg-penises puts up with me more than anyone else.
the dog is Beck, a pit bull and shar pei mix. Beck is a drivey, people-focused dog with some distinct primitive traits, but mostly she’s a typical lovey pit mix.
previously I also cared for Skylar, a dalmatian mix who was euthanized in September 2012 due to cancer. Skylar was a sweet old airhead with anxiety who was cartoonishly inept at burying anything.
