I recently read an article about Kent Monkman’s work, and it’s been a while since I was so excited by what an artist is doing. everything from his paintings to his performances as his alter ego Miss Chief is so strong visually and conceptually. this is what queer art should be- both personal and cultural. I hope my work is someday half as good as his.
