we’re waiting on the lab results from the vet, but based on her xrays, it looks like Skylar has lung cancer. right now, her only symptom is coughing when she’s over-excited, so the plan is to spoil the heck out of her while she’s still perky and happy. for Skylar, this means lots of new foods, getting to approach lots of strangers (with their permission, obviously) to make friends, going for walks at her favorite trails, getting to play with her favorite super annoying high-pitched squeaky toy, and finding interesting (gross) things (roadkill) for her to sniff.

it’s nice that we have time to do stuff like this.

edit: also. I will get her on dogshaming. all attention is good attention for Skylar.

“my” older dog, Skylar, (who is actually my sister’s dog that I care for) is at the emergency vet with my parents right now after coughing up some blood. she is 12 years old. idk how she’s going to do. I’m at home with my dog Beck and omg-penises.
